Extended School Services
Our Extended School is part of William Harding School and is also managed by one of our Senior Practitioners and is supported by a team of practitioners from both within the school and Pre-school. Through our provision we provide care and education for children aged 2 years to 11 years through our Breakfast Club, Pre-school, After School Club and Holiday Club.
This opens at 7.45am and pupils can socialise and have breakfast in a relaxing and fun environment. Members of staff take the pupils to school for registration ensuring they get to class on time. This service is available for children aged 3 - 11 years old.
Children are offered brown and white toast with a selection of jams, marmite and honey. We also offer cereal, and fresh fruit along with milk and water to drink. Children benefit from our home from home environment where they can start their day relaxed and ready for school.
After School Club
The session begins after school and finishes at 6.00pm. Children are collected from the Infant and Junior buildings at end of their school day and are escorted to the After School Club. There are a wide range of activities and games available, both inside and outside, to keep your child entertained and a healthy light tea and drinks are provided. Staff are aware that the children have had a busy day so ensure that alongside our numerous fun activities children also have the opportunity to enjoy quieter play. This service is available for children aged 3 - 11 years old.
Children enjoy a light tea for example; sandwiches, crumpets, tea cakes, toast, fresh fruit, cheese cubes, vegetable sticks, flapjacks, yoghurts, wraps, beans on toast, soup, cous cous and scones. Children can eat when they arrive and this is a great opportunity to discuss their day with trusted and familiar adults. Please note that the children’s tea is intended to keep the children going until they have their main meal at home with you.
Our Holiday Club service is offered to our families during school holidays and is again based at our school so that pupils are in a well known, safe and stimulating environment. Our practitioners are those who lead and run both Breakfast Club and After School Club and know the pupils and the school well.
