Pre-school for 2 Year Olds
Our Violet Room which is part of William Harding School provides quality childcare for children aged 2-3 years of age. It is managed by Senior Practitioner Becca Thain and strongly supported by a team of early Years practitioners. We have 3 in takes per year – September, January and April. We cater for 15 or 30 hour funded families as well as private paying families.
We are open term time only from 8.45am - 3.15pm. We offer various sessions throughout these times consisting of a morning session 8.45-11.45am, afternoon session 12.15-3.15pm, all day 8.45am-3.15pm or flexi 2 ½ days. Our all day sessions include a lunch club at an extra cost.
Within our provision we plan ‘in the moment’ for the children which gives them the opportunity to play, learn and explore in the here and now, providing activities and resources to aid their development.
Snack Time at Pre School
We have an open snack table which children can access when they are ready, they are invited to sit around the table and choose between milk and water as their drink. Children are offered a snack of fresh fruit and vegetables from the green grocer alongside healthy carbohydrate, this may include bread sticks, cheese and crackers and toast. Children are supported to wash their hands, developing self-help skills and encouraging children to operate independently within their environment. This is a sociable time providing the opportunity to develop and maintain our relationships with the children in our care. We recognise that children need significant adults to leave and come back to throughout the day. As practitioners we model social skills and demonstrate language.
Visits to the Pre-school are strongly recommended so you can see the provision and meet the team.
