Reading Rocks

To encourage a love of reading for pleasure, and to ensure that children read a range of books outside of school, we use the initiative 'Reading Rocks'. Children can earn points for reading regularly at home, taking care of our books and reading books from the relevant year group reading lists. The classes with the most points at the end of a half term win a prize for their commitment to reading. Since we started 'Reading Rocks' the children have shown great enthusiasm in reading and have been heard discussing books and stories with their peers. The library has also been busier, as children are more eager to read and have developed a greater passion for books!
