William Harding Governing Body

The Governors of William Harding are there to collectively ensure that the school’s provision enables every pupil to thrive. They are committed to raising standards of education and care to improve the lives of all pupils, especially those who are disadvantaged, those with SEND, those who are known (or previously known) to children’s social care, and those who may face other barriers to their learning and/or well-being.

The Governing body is therefore responsible for establishing the strategic vision & aims, target setting and financial budgeting. They work as a team with the Headteacher to support in raising all standards of the school and act as the 'critical friend'.

Please note that any complaints or concerns raised to the Governors will be referred back to the school to ensure that where appropriate the school has been able to respond in the first instance as per the informal stage of our complaints procedure. The structure of the Governing Body

Co-Chairs of Governors - Mrs Gurton (Co-Opted Governor) and Mr Brydon (Co-Opted Governor)

Clerk to Governors - Mr Treadwell

Co-Opted Governors - Mr Buckingham (including both Co-Chairs)

Headteacher - Miss Cotchin

Parent Governors - Mr Mondal and Miss Eldridge

Staff Governors - Mrs Fallows and Mr Phillips

As a school we publish information about each governor who has served at any time over the past 12 months, this includes; names, date they were appointed, term of office, who appointed them, in accordance with our governing body’s instrument of governance and date they stepped down, where this applies. The term of office for a School Governor is 4 years, there is no upper limit on the number of terms a school governor can serve at William Harding. It should be noted that all school governors at William Harding School are DBS checked.
